After starting in last
place due to missing the qualifying session, Steve Lamb was able to pass 15 cars effortlessly. The new motor was definitely
making a difference. Steve
made a couple of attempts at passing for second place but unable to pass
cleanly on the tight Hileah circuit.
A promising start to a new season.

MAG Motorsports
finishes 4th in Florida Pro Series 2003 season.
Steve Lamb and the MAG Motorsports Team finished the
2003 season 4th in points in our first season competing in the Florida Pro
series, an impressive accomplishment. At the awards banquet
held at Steinbrenner's Ramada Inn in Ocala FL.held on January 11, 2004,
driver Steve Lamb received a special award for "Good
Sportsmanship" in addition to his 4th place trophy.
Special thanks go out to Steve for his patience and perseverance, Al Styer
for his technical expertise and problem solving, Ronnie Anderson for his
ability to squeeze out faster lap times, and the excellent work done by the
crew Ricky Thorpe, Dan Connelly, and Randy Leonard. Also thanks to
our sponsors for supporting us in our first season! The first Pic
below is from the awards banquet. The other pics are highlites from
the season.

MAG Motorsports starts in the
Pole Position at Hialeah Speedway - Moves up to 4th place in the
Florida Pro series 10-4-03
The MAG Motorsports Team dialed
in the Taurus perfectly to meet the challenges of Hiliah's flat 1/3 mile
oval. Starting on the pole for the first time ever, the Taurus proved
to be the fastest competitor in the field, leading the first 64 laps
without a challenge. Unfortunately, engine problems slowed the
Taurus and we settled for a 10th place finish in the race but earned enough
points to jump to 4th place in points! See you at the races!

MAG Motorsports competes in back
to back races at Ocala Speedway and Citrus County Speedway - maintains 6th
place in Florida Pro Series 8-15/16-03
The MAG Motorsports Taurus
held up to grueling temperatures, back to back races, and the competition
from the largest turnout of cars for a Florida Pro event in three years (33
cars). Ocala speedway proved interesting as the track was
shaped like a teardrop. Those unfamiliar with the sharp turn
had their hands full. The race at Citrus County was rain
delayed one day after running 9 laps. The main event was
finished Sunday afternoon. We unfortunately were black
flagged near the end with an oil leak out the rear wheel
hub. Better luck next race! See ya in Lake City on
the 30th!

MAG Motorsports finishes 10th in
the Florida Pro Series Event at Hialeah Speedway- 7-19-03
MAG Motorsports Taurus came
together with a new powerplant just in time for the Hialeah
event. The team overcame the few challenges the new motor
yieled at the track and Steve Lamb qualified the car to 10th
position. Considering the lack of time to properly setup the car
Steve was able to advance in the early stages of the race. An
altercation with another car on lap 25 however knocked the front end out of
wack and the Taurus became real loose through the turns. Steve
managed to finish the race where we started in 10th position. With
that finish MAG Motorsports moved up in the points race to 6th place.
Next race is in Ocala, August 15th. See you there!

MAG Motorsports finishes 11th in
the second Florida Pro Series race at Columbia Motorsports Park-
5-10-03
MAG Motorsports first
appearance at Columbia Motorsports Park in Lake City FL. turned out
to be a challenge for the team. The 1/2 Mile high-banked oval
proved to be too much for the suspension setup we had. Coupled with
that was a fuel pickup problem that required numerous pit stops to try to
rectify. The team was happy to finish the race and chalk it up as a
learning experience.

MAG Motorsports finishes 4th in
the Florida Pro Series Opener at Charlotte County Speedway, March 22,2003
MAG Motorsports first
appearance at Charlotte County Speedway in Punta Gorda FL. turned out to be
a success for the team. A brand new asphalt surface on the
track provided exceptional traction. Dialing in the Taurus to the new
track proved to take some effort and affected our qualifying run of 12th
position out of 18 starters. Last minute changes proved to be
the right combination as the Taurus under the superb driving of Steve Lamb
was much faster during the race. A number of Sock Car Racing News
websites reported that Steve Lamb and the MAG Motorsports Taurus turned in
the race of the evening. (See www.karnac.com, and

MAG Motorsports finishes 4th in
Marion Edwards Pro Late Model 100 Hileah Speedway December 7, 2002
The rain-delayed race did
not dampen the spirits of the fans and drivers at the Marion Edwards Pro
100 race at Hileah Speedway. The MAG Motorsports Taurus driven by
veteran driver Steve Lamb, qualified in 7th position for the
race. Within the first 20 laps, Steve was able to gain 2
positions for 5th place. In attempting to gain 4th place a
controversial bump penalized the Taurus to last place. Within no
time, Steve was able to regain positions until once again the Taurus was in
5th position going for 4th. The Taurus was finally able to gain 4th
position racing side by side for 2 laps on the narrow Hileah pavement before
finally gaining the edge for 4th place. An exciting end to a great
season!

MAG Motorsports finishes 13th in
Bill Flingos Memorial 100 Florida Pro Series late model headliner at
Hialeah Speedway May 11-2002
The first race of the 2002 season
proved that all the hard work the team did during the off season paid off
with more consistant lap times, and no mechanical problems. The MAG
Motorsports / Xtreme I.T. Ford Taurus qualified for 13th out of a field of
16 cars.
The start of the race was
uneventful compared to last years event which required 3 restarts.
The Taurus was running lap times consistant with the leaders and quickly
moved up to 9th position. Unfortunately around lap 50, the car
was rear ended and spun into the wall causing significant damage to the
rear end. The car was still driveable but no longer was running at
pace with the leaders. Fortunately, the car did finish the race in
the same position we started, 13th. Stay tuned for the next
event! Pictures from event below:

MAG Motorsports Completes
Inaugural Race!
12/08/01 - 32nd Marion
Edwards, Jr Memorial 100
Hialeah Speedway,
Hialeah, FL
The first race for the #99 Ford
Taurus and driver Rick Thorpe proved to be a real challenge for the
team.
An issue with the cooling fan and
left front control arm required replacement of both before the start of the
race. The team was up to the challenge and Crew Chief Paul
Stewart along with the rest of the team had both items replaced before the
start. Unfortunately, we lost practice session and setup time
as a result and the race car was not properly "dialed in" to the
track. Still, the car qualified for the race at the 17th position.
Overly aggressive drivers caused
spectacular crashes on the first two attempts to start the race, but the
Taurus made it thru unscathed. Around lap 50, a problem with
overheated brakes prevented faster lap times. As luck would have it,
the many cautions during the race allowed the brakes to cool off and the
driver was able to work up to 11th position. By lap 80, our driver
attempted to pass for 10th and got the position, but the other driver spun
out and the race steward disallowed our pass. The Taurus
finished the race in 11th place. All in all, a very successful first
start!
